AO’s orchestral concerts for 2025 featured Shostakovich‘s Symphony No. 5 on 2nd March and Brahms‘s Symphony No. 1 on 27th July as well as soloists Minh-Quan Nguyen (cello) and Sophie Weston (flute).
2026 will begin in grand style with a summer concert featuring Rachmaninov‘s iconic Symphony No. 2.
Est. 2014, the Australasian Orchestra (AO) is an outfit of highly talented, passionate & diverse musicians who perform in AO as busy lives allow. The orchestra’s tackled some of the grandest orchestral works, and the orchestra’s signature musical blend also includes regularly performing various Australian & unheralded works, and with wonderful soloists.
Fuelled by pure musical passion, the AO has performed a plethora of exciting concerts. Comprised of wonderful & highly skilled orchestral instrumentalists, AO has also been joined by soloists such as Tony Gould, Shu-Cheen Yu, Natasha Lin, Brent Miller, Aaron Klein, Rebecca Parfitt, Adam Richardson, Ji Won Kim, Christian Li & Louise Turnbull.
